At least one inmate has killed while several men have injured in a violent disturbance in country’s prison in northwest of San Luis Obispo at the California on Sunday morning as officials say and about 160 inmates are involved in riot.
According to official reports that more than 160 inmates are involved in this riot, due to violent disturbance several men have injured while one has dead on Sunday morning.
The riot occurred in a medium security yard at Californian Prison; security guards used the rounds of 40-millimeter rubber and spray to take down the prisoners.
According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that the powerful riot took place at about 11 a.m. in East Facility where security was of medium level.
Inmates were fighting with each other while during this time many has injured and according to officials nine are seriously injured which have sent to hospital for treatment.
CDCR said that about 4,169 inmates are there in the prison while more than 160 were involved in this riot due to which it has left one dead while several have injured.
According to security officials that no guard injured in this riot and the reason of this violent disturbance is unknown still now.
It is said by the CDCR management that the man who has dead is identified as Matthew Cook of 25 years old, he was sentenced for about 13-year, 8-month due to different types of crimes and at about 1:00 a.m. he was announced be dead while his body has sent for post mortem.
The spokesperson of the Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center said that at about 1.45 a.m. they received a mass incident call from the CDCR and they received three trauma patients while one has dead.
